Jambox 041

  1. Jean Tonqiue – Lit Up (ft. Dirty Radio)

Fresh off Yusek’s label Partyfine, this nu disco track by the one and only Parisian producer gives us fresh life into the genre. Using multi-instruments, Jean Tonqiue creates funky grooves that have our shoulders swaying!

Best lyric: “I’m Lit up, approaching midnight, I’m try to fight it, but it’s taken over me!”

  1. Rise & Fool – Maybe

It’s not everyday you see a duo made up of a guy and woman, but that’s what Rise & Fool brings to the decks. This duo from Paris provides a tremendous house track, with a dope vocal component, especially in the bridge around 3minutes in.

Best Lyric: “Give me love, and give me more time, and maybe, crazy for you”

  1. Goldroom – Silhouette

A Disco Ball Music favorite, Goldroom releases his first single off his new album, West Of The West. Guitar riffs and feel good house vibes make this an automatic summer hit! Once again Goldroom does not disappoint!

Best Lyric: “Without you I’m a silhouette”

  1. The Golden Pony – Lost Yourself (ft. JT Mak)

I’ll let the duo explain the track in their own words: “Lost Yourself’s first version was written in a cold hotel room in Vegas while in retreat from the dilapidated glamour the capital of Midwestern sin offers. It’s gone through many versions since then, and transformed into a story about emotional dishonesty (with yourself and others!), in a really amazing collaboration with J.T. Mak. It seems very on-brand to us to release our darkest-themed song ever right as summer kicks off!” – Brooklyn’s very own, The Golden Pony

Best Lyric: “ Girl you’re much better than the credit you give yourself, could you blindly open up to someone else”

  1. Foals – Mountain At My Gates (Alex Metric Remix)

Alex Metric’s new take on Foals latest hit is beyond words. This track delivers a perfect electro / electronica spin, using the powerful the vocals of the original to build up to a perfect release of the Alex Metric sound! Hot, hot, hot!

Best Lyric: “I see a darkness in my face, I drive my car without the breaks”

  1. Middle – In Your Way

Steve ‘Middle’ Stullgens, delivers a future house banger that moves you from top to bottom. Middle’s use of melodic breakdowns and kicking bass line makes this song beautiful and soulful!

Best Lyric: N/A

  1. Chris Clouse – We Breathe

Chris Clouse brings this week’s 3am club track, to us. “We Breathe” takes on electronic and deep house elements and blends them into a perfect concoction. Imagining this on Output speakers right now is giving me chills.

Best Lyric: “We breathe, we breathe, we breathe”

  1. Kraak & Smaak – So Clear (ft. Meeka Kates)

Don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t a duo, this a trio! Hailing from the Netherlands, this trio beings the summer feels in their new track “So Clear”. A very chill and relaxing house track.

Best Lyric: “Heading out in the city where the lights, she had black dress with a cigarette, drop dead from her lips to her legs”

  1. Franc Moody – T’s & C’s

Sounding very Roche Music like, Franc Moody brings the fire with this disco track. The track builds wonderfully, bringing me back to the good days of disco. Be on the look out later this month for our feature on Franc Moody’s first EP.

Best Lyric: N/A

  1. Pomelo – This Body Blur (Leo Lunel Remix)

This French house inspired track is so beautiful. The combination of the guitar strings, vocals, and horns is euphoric. Close your eyes and imagine the disco ball spinning as this track flows through the ears.

Best Lyric: “feel like falling when I touch your body, you make me forget we are two, and this body blur makes me, feel like falling”

Jambox 039

I was listening to VIEWS all week, but back to Jambox 039!

  1. Pat Lok – You Street

Sounding very Moon Boots-ish, a little too close???  Although Canada is usually on the colder side, Pat Lok is bringing the heat!

  1. Capyac – Talk About

This track just grooves! We’ve had Capyac on a previous Jambox, so it shouldn’t be a surprise we dig this duo’s vibe this time around. Sit back and vibe out!

  1. Sylow ft. Becky Rutherford – Walk In (Le Flex Remix)

We love Le Flex over here at Disco Ball Music, and he provides another disco / house gem. Keep your eye out for his new single “In My Dreams”. Definitely Jambox material once released!

  1. Yes – Owner of A Lonely Heart (Enki Nyxx Remake)

Wow! Let this track build and you’ll be rewarded! Enki Nyxx spins off the 80s classic into a nu-disco banger! Cheers to this track!

  1. Blonde ft. Craig David – Nothing Like This (Chris Lake Remix)

We chose this remix to the brand new Blonde record “Nothing Like This”, because of the uniqueness of the remix. So many times, producers don’t take risks on remixes, not wanting to stray to far, but Chris Lake does it perfectly.

  1. Metroplane – Mr. T

If you don’t already know, Metroplane is collab effort of Aeroplane and Alex Metric. Their first release “Mr. T” is nothing short of what you’d expect from these two individuals. Electronic heaven.

Italian producer Angelo Ferreri brings the house heat. Thumping bass line and looped vocals make this a classic and timeless track.

Straight from one of our favorite record labels, Kitsuné, this Roisto remix brings in sounds from many generations with 80s, 90s, and current day feels.

  1. Solidisco – One Dance (Drake Cover)

NYC very own Solidisco quickly jumps on the Views bandwagon, and produces a tropical edit of “One Dance”. Using the vocals from Gayatri Nair, this cover is nicely done, without losing the rhythm that makes the original so catchy.

  1. Sigala – Sweet Lovin’

We know this song is old (in terms of music), but never included it in our Jamboxes, and we LOVE the vocals. This is a daily play, so it only seemed fitting to include it. Go peep Sigala’s soundcloud page for plenty of great tracks!

Jambox 038 –

  1. The Aston Shuffle – Only 1

Being apart of The Magicians label, Potions, is no joke, and either is this track. The Aston Shuffle always seems to be slightly changing their sound, and in ‘Only 1’, you can definitely hear The Magicians’ influences, and we are not complaining! Great track!

  1. A.Skillz – You Got The Love (A.Skillz “Moment of My Life” Edit)

No, this is not similar to Avicii’s take on Florence + the Machine’s smash hit “You’ve Got the Love”, but it does make us dance just as much. Perfect for Disco Ball Music, this disco edit surely will light up any dance floor. Truly loving this edit!

Lenno brings the summer warmth with ‘Good Thing’, an up beat, good vibes track. With a steady bass line and incorporating horns, Lenno has constructed another hit!

  1. Le Youth – Boomerang (feat. Tay Beckham)

We’d feel a little bad if we let our man Wes James off the list. Featuring the beautiful Tay Beckham you can tell within twenty seconds “Boomerang” is a classic Le Youth track, with unreal vocals and soothing percussions.

  1. Mandal & Forbes – Shake

Shake your body don’t stop…. Boom boom boom. UK based Mandal & Forbes put a nice deep house twist onto Khia – “My Neck, My Back”, that will play out massively in any set. Guaranteed to make you dance.

  1. Praise Cats – Shined On Me (Ofenbach Club Remix)

By now you may realize we love our vocal samples here at Disco Ball music, but it’s the driving bass line and soulful vocals that really get our blood flowing. Cheers Ofenbach, perfect club remix!

Los Angeles based Classixx released ‘Just Let Go’ and instantly became staple in our daily plays. The vocals and buildup after the second verse make for an absolute smash! This falls into the all summer long playlist! But we are not surprised; this is Classixx we are talking about!

Add another producer to list of talent coming out of the UK. Sam Wills brings us a soulful future house track. Perfect for your walk into work, or your roof top party!

  1. Gigamesh – Control (feat. Caroline Smith)

Being from Minnesota, I had to show Minneapolis producer Gigamesh some love! It’s actually shocking I haven’t had him on a Jambox before. Never too late I guess. Caroline Smith’s vocals remind me of the classic disco sounds you hear roaring in the 80s.

  1. Aluna George – I’m in Control (The Magician Remix)-

The first time I heard this track on Keljet Tape Four ((https://soundcloud.com/keljet-tapes-2/keljet-tape-four) , it brought feels. Not only does it make you feel something, it makes you dance. Great work by the Australian duo.

I had to share this track. I could not resist the temptation. Although 2 years old, this track would slide flawlessly into your set, with powerful vocals and punching string tones.

  1. Hotel Garuda – Smoke Signals

You may know Hotel Garuda for their smashing remixes, such as ‘Rhythm of The Night’ and ‘Jealous’, but today I bring you their first original release. ‘Smoke Signals’ uses strong vocals, with a build up reminiscent to a big-room progressive house anthem, but lucky for us, they don’t use a cheesy drop.

ClOUDCHORD takes this 2015 hit and brings it to another level. This remix adds energy and boldness, which gives the song an extra lift! Would play this out all day.

5. SG Lewis – No Less (Billon Remix) –

Two of UK’s brightest talent, Billon takes on SG Lewis song “No Less” and goes all “Disclosure like” over it. I’ve said it before, but Billon reminds me so much of Disclosure, when Disclosure DJs, and this remix is no different. Absolutely Brilliant remix!

P.S The original is a masterpiece in itself.

The way Wes James loops Laura Welsh’s vocal while adding his classic disco-house sound makes this remix an absolute smash! Can’t wait to check out his show Friday @ Webster Hall, NYC.

7. Penguin Prison – Show Me The Way (Cesare Remix) –

I was hesitant, because I wasn’t sure a remix to my favorite Penguin Prison song would really come close to the original, but Cesare brings a remix that doesn’t take away the wonderful vocals, and adds in a peaceful up-tempo beat with soothing guitar riff after each verse. SHOW ME THE WAY!

8. Demarzo – I Like It –

The most interesting, and original song I’ve heard in 2016 comes from LA producer SONNS. SONNS puts a unique spin on “Surrender” which actually slows down the original and really captivates the listener’s ears. Song will have you lost in a musical universe. That snare drum!

Cheers!

10. Reuben Keeney – Better Run

Getting creative, this Irish based producer samples the classic “You Better Run” by Dr. C.J. Johnson, and surrounds it with an awesome arrangement of warm house sounds.
