Jambox 037 –
- TCTS – Jelly –
I occasionally mention NYC clubs as a place I’d want to hear a certain track live for the first time, and ‘Jelly’ had me immediately thinking Output. The bass line and voice sample are top notch. Bring the Funk back!
- Set Mo – Chasing Forever (Jafunk Remix) –
Yes, he’s back! He’s not just back, he’s back with fire! Local NYC producer Jafunk brings one of the top songs of 2016! I’ll let the song do the talking. (Repeat button necessary)
- Gigamesh – Control (feat. Caroline Smith) –
Being from Minnesota, I had to show Minneapolis producer Gigamesh some love! It’s actually shocking I haven’t had him on a Jambox before. Never too late I guess. Caroline Smith’s vocals remind me of the classic disco sounds you hear roaring in the 80s.
- MyNamE – So Léger –
I’ll be honest, I hadn’t known of MyNamE until a few weeks ago, but I’m so grateful. So Léger, brings that French House fire! Oooooo Yes! Go check out their Soundcloud page, it’s littered with great tracks.
- Aluna George – I’m in Control (The Magician Remix)-
I’ve been hard on The Magician recently, but I think this remix is his best work in 2016. It reminds me of his magic tape 38 days. He let’s the original vocals do the work, as he should.
- Maijd Jordan – My Love (Remix) –
OVO in the house. The Canadian duo signed to Drake’s record OVO Sound, give us a wonderful remix to ‘My Love’. For all those who have friends that refuse to get into house, and only like R&B/Rap, send them this track ASAP.
7.GodWolf – Resist –
The first time I heard this track on Keljet Tape Four ((https://soundcloud.com/keljet-tapes-2/keljet-tape-four) , it brought feels. Not only does it make you feel something, it makes you dance. Great work by the Australian duo.
- Shit Hot Soundsystem – Desire (NDYD Disqo 002) –
‘Desire’ brings such a classic sound and vibe. It’s brings so much energy, without losing the traditional disco feel, that makes this a nu-disco smash!
- Beerlover – Fonk FM B–
I had to share this track. I could not resist the temptation. Although 2 years old, this track would slide flawlessly into your set, with powerful vocals and punching string tones.
- Hotel Garuda – Smoke Signals –
You may know Hotel Garuda for their smashing remixes, such as ‘Rhythm of The Night’ and ‘Jealous’, but today I bring you their first original release. ‘Smoke Signals’ uses strong vocals, with a build up reminiscent to a big-room progressive house anthem, but lucky for us, they don’t use a cheesy drop.
